Commercial Finance Director London Up to £160,000 + package
Partner Financial are pleased to be partnering with a dynamic, growth-oriented consumer business to appoint a Director of Commercial Finance. This is a pivotal leadership role reporting directly to the CFO, with broad responsibility across financial planning, commercial strategy and operational finance.
The business is at an exciting stage of expansion, where sharp financial insight, disciplined planning and strong commercial partnership are critical to sustaining growth. This role will sit at the heart of decision-making, helping to shape strategy, evaluate opportunities and ensure the business is well-positioned to scale effectively.
Working closely with the CEO, CFO and senior leadership team, the Director of Commercial Finance will lead budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning, while also overseeing key areas such as investment appraisal, property strategy and financial operations. The role will combine strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, ensuring financial rigour supports ambitious commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the planning cycle, including annual budgets, reforecasts and long-term strategic plans. Deliver insightful analysis on business performance, providing clear recommendations to senior stakeholders. Partner closely with operational and functional leaders to drive revenue growth and improve profitability. Support major investment decisions through robust financial modelling and return analysis. Play a key role in funding activities, including lender engagement, refinancing and capital structure planning. Contribute to corporate development initiatives such as acquisitions, integration and strategic projects. Oversee board-level reporting, ensuring clear, concise and impactful communication of financial performance. Strengthen data, reporting and business intelligence capabilities to enable informed decision-making. Lead, develop and inspire a high-performing finance team within a fast-paced environment. Maintain oversight of financial controls, reporting accuracy and governance across the finance function.

Qualifications and Experience
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant experience in commercial finance roles. Proven background in financial planning, forecasting and performance analysis within a complex, multi-site or consumer-led environment. Demonstrated ability to influence strategic decisions and partner effectively with senior leadership teams. Experience operating in high-growth or private equity-backed businesses is advantageous. Strong financial modelling and analytical capability, with a clear understanding of key business drivers. Track record of leading and developing teams, with a collaborative and results-focused approach. Exposure to corporate finance activity, including funding or transactional work, would be beneficial. Highly commercial mindset, with the confidence to challenge and support decision-making at all levels. Resilient, adaptable and comfortable working at pace in an evolving environment.
