Commercial Finance Manager
12-Month Fixed Term Contract (Maternity Cover)
Location: London Central | Working Arrangement: Hybrid Salary: £60,000 + Benefits
About the Role
Are you a commercially focused finance professional looking to deliver strategic insights and drive performance in a fast-growing consumer drinks business?
MacGregor Black are recruiting a Commercial Finance Manager for a 12-month maternity cover contract, partnering closely with Sales & Marketing to enhance financial strategy, forecast accuracy, and support key decisions.
This role offers immediate starting opportunities with ample exposure across the business—including both UK and international operations. Sit at the intersection of finance and growth, making impactful contributions in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and planning across core commercial functions.
- Work with Sales & Marketing teams to incorporate financial insights and challenge assumptions, ensuring robust, data-driven forecasts.
- Perform detailed variance analysis, identifying key drivers of performance in revenue, volume, pricing, and profitability.
- Support customer negotiations, commercial proposals, and promotional activities using data-driven analysis.
- Evaluate pricing strategies, promotional effectiveness, and return on investment to safeguard profitable growth.
- Produce informative financial reports and present insights to senior stakeholders across the business.
- Analyze customer, channel, and product performance, pinpointing risks and growth opportunities.
- Improve financial reporting capabilities through tools like Power BI and other planning systems.
- Collaborate with the finance team to maintain accurate reporting and commercial governance.
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and strategic recommendations for decision-making.

Requirements
- Part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Relevant experience in Commercial Finance, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), or Finance Business Partnering.
- Strong preference for candidates with experience in FMCG, Food & Drink, Consumer Goods, or Retail.
- Advanced commercial acumen with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights.
- Proficient in Excel and experienced with large data sets.
- Bonus points for exposure to reporting and planning tools, such as Power BI, Adaptive Insights, or Hybris (H2).
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to challenge assumptions constructively.
- A problem-solving mindset, driven by continuous improvement and business performance.
