Financial Controller | Finance Manager | (Future Finance Director)
Central London | £70,000 - £85,000 + Benefits
Looking for a role where you'll genuinely help shape a growing business?
Perhaps you're already a Financial Controller. Or maybe you're a commercially-minded Finance Manager who's ready for the next step. Either way... If you're looking for genuine influence, exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to grow into a Finance Director role, we'd love to hear from you.
About the opportunity
We're partnering with a successful, privately-owned consultancy business that's entering an exciting new chapter. Following recent organisational change, the leadership team has ambitious growth plans and is looking for a commercially-minded finance professional to become a key member of that journey. This isn't simply about producing management accounts. You'll work alongside an experienced Fractional CFO, partnering directly with the owners and senior leadership team, helping them make better commercial decisions whilst building a finance function capable of supporting future growth. Over time, the intention is for the successful candidate to develop into the company's Finance Director.
What you'll be doing
- Producing monthly management accounts and commercial reporting.
- Budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management.
- Supporting strategic business decisions through financial analysis.
- Improving systems, reporting and financial controls.
- Working closely with operational stakeholders across the business.
- Coaching and developing a small finance team.
- Helping build a finance function that can scale alongside the business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Consultancy
- Recruitment
