Hays are partnering exclusively with a highly successful and growing business, who deliver a range of exceptional services to their customers. You will be working within the UK division of an international group and will play a vital part in a key project they are delivering.
Your new role
This is a newly created role that will work in close partnership with the leadership team. This role is responsible for leading the strategic financial management - providing actionable insights and commercial analysis that drive profitable growth and data-informed decision-making aligned with business objectives. Additionally, the role supports key customer accounts, ensuring a strong financial focus across the business to deliver services in full alignment with contractual agreements.
Specifically, your responsibilities will be to:
- Partner with commercial, sales and operation teams to evaluate business performance, pricing strategy and profitability.
- Deliver timely and accurate management reports to the board that include clear insights and recommendations that drive performance and profit.
- Support the local leadership team(s) with robust business cases, forecasts and scenario planning.
- Lead the financial planning and analysis of key customer account(s), providing budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning.
- Become the Subject Matter Expert for the commercial contract with the customer and ensure compliance.
- Develop a strong commercial relationship with the customer and be the conduit between them and the Metro leadership and finance teams.
- Monitor key commercial KPI's that include revenue growth, profitability and margins. The ability to be in the detail is essential.
- Ensure financial controls and governance are embedded with commercial decision-making.
- Improve financial processes, tools and systems to ensure data accuracy and efficiency.
- Work with the broader finance team to maintain compliance and consistency within financial operations.

This is a full-time role, working 40 hours per week, between Monday and Friday. The role will be on a hybrid basis, with the expectation of being on site for 3 days a week, but you may be required to do more if the role requires it.
What you'll need to succeed
You will:
- Be a fully qualified accountant.
- Have experience in outward-facing commercial finance or business partnering.
- Possess strong stakeholder management experience.
- Have excellent financial planning and analysis skills.
- Have excellent analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Possess prior experience in creating and developing financial processes and KPIs.
- Have advanced Excel and financial modelling proficiency.
