The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Finance Transformation Lead, Senior Finance Manager, or Commercial Finance Manager to support a focused finance transformation programme and help embed a high-performing commercial finance function.
This is a hands-on, commercially focused role. We are looking for someone who can bring structure, discipline, and commercial insight and work closely with the executive leadership team to improve financial performance and support future growth.
This is not a traditional reporting role. It requires curiosity, sound judgement, pace, and the confidence to challenge constructively while driving meaningful operational improvements.
About the Business
Our client is an established, multi-entity organisation operating across the UK and internationally, with a diversified portfolio of businesses and a growing technology offering. The organisation is currently investing in strengthening its finance function, improving commercial reporting, and embedding scalable financial processes to support its next phase of growth.
The successful candidate will work closely with the executive leadership team and an established finance team to improve visibility, governance, and commercial decision-making.
The Role
Key Responsibilities
- Embed new financial planning and control processes across the business.
- Own and continuously improve a rolling cash flow forecast, providing clear visibility of cash, risks, and future decision points.
- Strengthen credit control processes to improve working capital and reduce debtor days.
- Improve the month-end reporting cycle to support faster, more informed commercial decisions.
- Identify operational issues, investigate root causes, and implement practical solutions.
- Simplify, automate, and standardise finance processes to improve efficiency.
- Provide commercial analysis around pricing, profitability, and business performance.
- Strengthen financial governance, controls, and compliance.
- Build a disciplined finance function with clear ownership, accountability, and consistent delivery.
- Provide commercial insight that enables leadership to make confident, data-driven decisions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
