Commercial Growth Manager
Full-Time | Birmingham (Hybrid)
Salary: £45,000 + OTE (up to £5,000)
The Opportunity
Birmingham Panthers are building a modern women’s sports club designed around performance, audience, and commercial growth. As we scale, we are looking for an ambitious and entrepreneurial Commercial Manager to help drive revenue across sponsorship, events, and customer monetisation.
This is a high-impact role within a growing organisation, offering meaningful responsibility, visibility, and the opportunity to shape new income streams. You will work closely with the CEO and Head of Audience Growth to develop partnerships, support sales activity, and maximise commercial opportunities across the club.
Role Purpose
The Commercial Manager will:
- Lead day-to-day management of existing commercial partners
- Play an active role in developing new sponsorship opportunities
- Support outreach, research, and pitch development
- Contribute to revenue growth across events, premium products, and fan engagement
- Identify and develop new income opportunities aligned with the Panthers brand

This role combines relationship management, proactive business development, and cross-functional commercial thinking.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sponsorship & Partnership Development
- Manage and nurture relationships with existing sponsors
- Lead rights delivery conversations
- Support renewals and upsell opportunities
- Conduct prospect research and outreach
- Contribute to the development of pitch decks and proposals
- Participate in new business meetings and sales conversations
- Work collaboratively with the CEO on larger or strategic partnership discussions.
2. Event & Experience Monetisation
- Work with the Brand & Experiences Manager to:
- Package commercial opportunities within matchdays and fan events
- Integrate sponsor assets into experiential activity
- Support corporate hospitality and networking initiatives
- Identify ways to increase event-related revenue
- Ensure commercial thinking is embedded at the concept stage of new experiences.
3. Fan & Customer Revenue Growth
- Collaborate with the Head of Audience Growth to:
- Increase revenue per fan
- Develop premium ticketing and hospitality offers
- Support merchandise and upsell initiatives
- Contribute to targeted commercial campaigns

4. New Revenue Streams
- Proactively explore and develop opportunities such as:
- Paid fan events
- Corporate engagement products
- Community-linked partnerships
- Licensing or affiliate opportunities
- Commercial collaborations aligned to the Panthers brand
5. Commercial Reporting & Pipeline Management
- Maintain accurate pipeline tracking and reporting
- Monitor sponsorship delivery and performance
- Support forecasting discussions
- Ensure CRM and documentation are up to date
Skills & Experience
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience in sponsorship, partnerships, or commercial development
- Is confident initiating conversations and building relationships
- Has strong communication and presentation skills
- Is commercially driven and motivated by targets
- Thinks creatively about revenue opportunities
- Thrives in a fast-moving, collaborative environment
