About the Role
The Commercial Insurance New Business Team Leader will lead, coach, and develop a team of Direct Sales Coordinators, ensuring:
- Achievement of new business targets
- Exceptional customer service
- Full compliance with FCA regulations
- Effective workflow management
- Performance monitoring and team development
Daily Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate a team of Direct Sales staff to meet individual and team sales targets
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring:
- Timely handling of inbound enquiries, digital leads, and referrals
- Performance monitoring with regular feedback via 1:1s and team meetings
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members
- Address escalated queries and complex cases, ensuring swift resolutions and customer satisfaction
- Collaborate with:
- Underwriting partners
- Internal stakeholders
- To optimise conversion rates
- Ensure compliance with:
- FCA regulations
- Internal procedures
- Contribute to:
- Strategic planning
- Continuous improvement initiatives

Ideal Candidate
This role is suited to individuals with:
- Experience in Commercial Insurance, preferably with a Broker (Cert CII preferred but not mandatory)
- Leadership experience in a sales or customer service setting
- Strong interpersonal and coaching skills, with a passion for developing others
- A driven customer service mindset and flexibility to work:
- Independently
- As part of a team
- A keen eye for accuracy and detail, even under pressure
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel)
