Clark James Specialist Insurance Recruitment are seeking a Team Leader with Commercial Insurance broker experience to help a popular Croydon based Insurance broker to deliver an excellent and comprehensive service in the administration of new business, renewal and mid-term changes so that customers’ needs are best satisfied through suitable cover and pricing. The role is only suitable if you are working in Commercial Insurance.
This role would suit an Insurance team leader currently or a Senior Account Handler looking to take their first step into leading a team to be at their best. With a commitment from a ‘hands-on’ leadership team they can provide a first-class development plan into wider management responsibilities.

Please note this is a full-time, permanent opportunity. You will be based in Croydon and ideally be onsite for 3 days per week on average.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Commercial account handling team, ensuring efficient workflows and high performance.
- Provide ongoing coaching and development opportunities to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and exceptional service delivery.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Partner with Account Executives to develop and execute client retention strategies.
- Negotiate renewal terms with insurers and present options to clients.
- Generate professional reports and summaries using designated templates.
- Secure premium collection in accordance with established procedures.
- Maintain accurate and meticulous records within Acturis and the company diary system.
- Manage policy adjustments, including notifying insurers, issuing revised documentation, and collecting additional premiums, all in adherence to company protocols.

Qualifications & Knowledge
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in commercial insurance.
- Proven working knowledge of all major general insurance classes.
- Adherence to the CII's Code of Ethics and a thorough understanding of GDPR regulations.
