Business Manager – Vice President, Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) Operations Business Management
Be at the center of driving AI and technology transformation initiatives for Operations while shaping Vision 2030. This role offers the opportunity to partner with senior leaders, influence critical strategy, and deliver measurable outcomes in a collaborative and inclusive environment.
You will leverage your expertise to drive strategy, governance, and execution of high-impact transformation programmes across CIB Operations, fostering cross-functional alignment between the Front Office, Operations, Finance, Technology, and Business Management. Translate strategy into actionable roadmaps, ensure timely delivery of business outcomes, and provide executive-level reporting on progress, risks, and value.
We seek: a strategic, execution-focused leader with disciplined governance, strong stakeholder management, and the ability to lead complex cross-functional transformations in a global context.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the execution, governance, and acceleration of strategic transformation initiatives across CIB Operations, ensuring adherence to scope, timelines, budget, and business outcomes.
- Operationalise delivery plans by defining clear milestones, dependencies, success metrics, and maintaining rigorous executive reporting.
- Establish effective governance (AMLs, operating rhythms, decision cadences) to drive accountability, transparency, and rapid decision-making. Proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks.
- Proactively manage delivery health across all initiatives by tracking progress, adoption, benefits realisation, risks, issues, dependencies, and controls, with timely escalation where necessary.
- Develop executive-ready communications—including materials, readouts, and decision papers—that clearly articulate:
- Progress and challenges
- Key trade-offs
- Issues requiring attention
- Decisions required
- Recommended action
- Lead cross-functional coordination by:
- Building alignment among stakeholders
- Clarifying roles and responsibilities
- Driving follow-through across teams
- Support thought leadership and special projects in areas such as:
- Workforce of the Future
- Skills development and learning
- Internal communications and colleague engagement
- Value/ROI measurement
- Crafting crisp narratives and executive-ready artefacts

Directly support the Managing Director and CIB Operations CFO, driving delivery of CFO-sponsored strategic priorities and the “book of work,” including:
- Planning and stakeholder alignment
- Governance frameworks
- Executive-level communications

Enable alignment across CIB Operations senior management by:
- Facilitating consistent messaging
- Representing the CFO office in key forums
- Strengthening execution discipline

Own the operating cadence for priority initiatives, including:
- Quarterly planning and progress reviews
- Action tracking and accountability
- Timely escalation of risks and dependencies
Required Qualifications & Capabilities
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
- Experience:
- Proven track record of managing large-scale transformation initiatives.
- Hands-on experience in financial services, strategy consulting, or technology (e.g., strategy, transformation, business management, chief operating office (COO), or chief of staff roles).
- Leadership & Stakeholder Management:
- Ability to lead complex cross-functional initiatives.
- Strength in engaging, influencing, and building relationships with senior leaders, business heads, and key stakeholders.
- Communication & Storytelling:
- Exceptional verbal and written skills, with an ability to simplify complex topics for senior executives.
- Drive decision-making through compelling narratives and executive materials.
- Analytical & Project Management:
- Strong Problem-solving, risk management, and dependency-tracking capabilities.
- Experience in performance tracking, P&L, risk identification, and ROI measurement.
- Technical Proficiency:
- Advanced PowerPoint, Excel, and business intelligence tools for developing reports, dashboards, and data-driven insights.
- Soft Skills:
- Comfort managing ambiguity and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to prioritise decisively and deliver results under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications & Capabilities
- Advanced Degree: MBA or comparable executive education.
- Industry-Specific Experience: Preference for candidates with financial services expertise, particularly in markets, payments, banking, operations, or technology.
