Commercial Lawyer
Commercial Counsel (Contract)
Location: Remote (United Kingdom) Hours: 40 hours per week Duration: 3 months Compensation: $80–$90 USD/hour (£60–£70/hr)
Overview
A high-growth design and SaaS technology company is seeking an experienced Commercial Counsel to support its EMEA commercial legal team on an interim basis.
This is a full-time contract role providing short-term coverage, focused on managing a high volume of strategic enterprise customer agreements. The successful candidate will operate independently while partnering closely with Sales, Finance, and Deal Desk teams to drive deal execution.
Key Responsibilities
Review, draft, and negotiate enterprise commercial agreements with strategic customers across the EMEA region Manage a high volume of deal activity independently and efficiently Negotiate data privacy terms, including DPAs and SCCs, as well as AI-related contractual provisions Partner with Sales, Finance, and Deal Desk teams to support deal strategy and execution Provide practical, business-oriented legal guidance to facilitate deal closure Identify and escalate legal risks while maintaining deal momentum

Qualifications
7+ years of in-house commercial legal experience, ideally within a SaaS or high-growth technology company Proven ability to manage high-volume contracting workflows with minimal supervision Strong experience negotiating data privacy and AI-related contractual terms Qualified solicitor or equivalent legal qualification in a UK or EMEA jurisdiction Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Ability to work cross-functionally with commercial and executive teams Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
