You'll be joining a large, highly regulated, international organisation operating at the forefront of innovation, technology and financial services. The in-house legal function plays a strategic role across the business, supporting complex commercial activity, capital projects, technology transformation and real estate initiatives while managing legal and regulatory risk at scale. The team is recognised as a centre of excellence, partnering closely with procurement, technology, corporate real estate and frontline business teams to deliver pragmatic, commercially focused legal advice.

Your new role

As a Construction and Commercial/Technology Lawyer, you will join a global Commercial, Innovation and Technology legal team, advising on a broad range of construction, commercial and technology matters. You will act as a trusted legal adviser to stakeholders across procurement, capital projects, technology and wider business functions, helping to manage legal risk and support key strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing commercially focused legal advice on construction, real estate, procurement, commercial and technology matters.
  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of agreements relating to construction projects, consultancy services, technology solutions and outsourced services.
  • Advising on the procurement and delivery of complex construction, workplace, facilities and real estate projects across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Supporting the negotiation of consultant, contractor and framework agreements.
  • Developing and implementing legal strategies that support effective risk management and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitoring legal and regulatory developments and advising on their impact on the business.
  • Identifying legal and regulatory risks and providing practical mitigation strategies.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Qualification as a Solicitor, Barrister or equivalent legal professional in the UK or a comparable jurisdiction, with relevant post-qualification experience gained in-house and/or private practice.
  • The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and build strong relationships with stakeholders across legal and business functions.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to contribute positively to wider team and organisational objectives.

Ideally, you will also have experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Advising corporate real estate, capital projects or procurement teams on complex construction, workplace, facilities management and real estate projects.
  • Negotiating consultant appointments, contractor agreements and framework arrangements.
  • Advising on a broad range of commercial and technology agreements, including software licences, SaaS and cloud services, and professional services agreements.
  • Advising financial services organisations or working within a regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements affecting financial institutions, such as outsourcing, ring-fencing, operational resilience or related regulatory frameworks.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard construction and consultancy contracting models and framework-based procurement structures.
