Commercial Lawyer – Flexible Consultancy (7+ PQE)

Position: Senior Commercial Solicitor (Flexible Consultancy)

We are partnering with a dynamic, expanding law firm specialising in advising entrepreneurial businesses, including start-ups, scale-ups, and established SMEs across diverse sectors. They deliver commercially focused legal advice in a collaborative, modern approach with a strong reputation.

This flexible consultancy opportunity is ideal for an experienced commercial lawyer seeking high-quality flexible work, while continuing to build strong client relationships and develop their professional profile.

Responsibilities

You will advice on a wide range of commercial matters, including:

  • Commercial contracts across multiple sectors
  • Supply agreements, agency, and distribution agreements
  • Terms and conditions
  • Introducer agreements
  • SaaS and software contracts
  • Data protection issues within commercial transactions
  • Intellectual property and licensing matters
  • Support in corporate transactions, including transitional services and intra-group agreements
  • Advising founders, entrepreneurs, and growing businesses throughout their lifecycle

Additional duties include:

  • Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers
  • Contributing to the development of the commercial practice
  • Participation in business development initiatives

Requirements

Suitable candidates’ll usually demonstrate:

  • Qualification as a Solicitor in England & Wales
  • Ideally 7+ years' PQE gained within notable law firms
  • Strong experience advising on a broad range of commercial contracts
  • Solid understanding of data protection within agreements
  • Experience working in-house and/or on secondment
  • Previous exposure to managing client relationships at a senior level
  • Experience supervising teams or a desire to take on leadership responsibilities
  • Interest in business development and growing a personal practice
  • Excelent communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills
  • A commercial, solutions-focused approach to legal advice

Working Arrangements

This position is on a consultancy basis, with flexibility in working patterns:

  • Open to discussing 3, 4, or 5 days per week, adjusted depending on availability and business needs.
  • Competitive hourly rate available.
