We are working with a well-established financial services business seeking a mid to senior-level commercial lawyer to join their in-house legal team on an initial 6-month contract, with strong potential for extension.
About the Role
This is a hands-on role supporting the business on a range of complex commercial and outsourcing arrangements, within a regulated environment.
You will advise on:
- Drafting and negotiating commercial and outsourcing contracts
- Technology, supplier and third-party service agreements
- Regulatory aspects of outsourcing arrangements
- FCA-related conduct and compliance considerations
- Consumer-facing product frameworks

There will be a particular focus on matters relating to:
- Consumer credit
- Insurance
- FCA conduct rules and regulatory expectations in these areas
You will work closely with procurement, compliance, and operational stakeholders to ensure agreements align with regulatory requirements and risk appetite.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will bring:
- A qualified solicitor (UK or common law) with circa 7+ years’ PQE (flexible depending on experience)
- Experienced in commercial contracts within a financial services environment
- Confident advising on outsourcing arrangements
- Familiar with FCA rules, particularly in consumer credit and/or insurance
- Commercially pragmatic and comfortable working autonomously
- Previous in-house experience is desirable but not essential.

Work Schedule
This role can be either 4 or 5 days a week, with 2-3 in the office.
