Commercial Lead - Data Centre Construction

Commercial Lead – Data Centre Project (Finland) London /Cork/ Dublin / Helsinki (Hybrid) | Travel to Finland (fully expensed) | Permanent

We are partnering with a growing, forward-thinking consultancy that has recently secured a series of major hyperscale data centre project wins across Europe, backed by significant investment and a strong pipeline of long-term growth.

As a result, we are now seeking an experienced Commercial Lead to take ownership of the commercial delivery of the construction of flagship data centre project in Finland—a high-profile, mission-critical development within a rapidly expanding European portfolio.

This is a senior leadership role offering the opportunity to work at the forefront of digital infrastructure, supporting the delivery of complex, high-value projects across international markets.

🔹 The Role You will lead all commercial, contractual, and financial aspects of the project, ensuring strong governance, risk management, and commercial performance from pre-construction through to final account. Working closely with project directors, design teams, contractors, and client stakeholders, you will play a pivotal role in driving successful project outcomes. This role can be based in London, Dublin, Cork or Helsinki, with regular, fully expensed travel to Finland.

🔹 Key Responsibilities Lead commercial management across a major hyperscale data centre programme Oversee cost planning, forecasting, reporting, and financial controls Manage procurement strategy and contract administration (NEC / FIDIC or equivalent) Lead subcontractor and main contractor commercial negotiations Drive change control, variation, and claims management processes Support risk mitigation and value optimisation strategies Collaborate closely with project and design teams across multiple locations Provide commercial input into client reporting and senior stakeholder updates

Experience Proven experience in a Commercial Manager / Commercial Lead / Senior Quantity Surveyor/Senior Cost Manager role Strong background in Data Centres, Critical Infrastructure, Pharma, or large-scale MEP projects Excellent understanding of major contract forms (NEC / FIDIC) Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation and leadership skills Comfortable working in fast-paced, international project environments Strong communication skills and stakeholder management capability
