Commercial Lead London (hybrid) · Full-time · £45k - £50k + commission

Our mission Most founders hire their first finance leader too late, in the wrong way, at the wrong cost. They either can’t afford a full-time CFO, don’t know where to find a good fractional one, or end up with the wrong person because the hiring process was guesswork.

enki exists to fix that. We’ve built the deepest community of vetted fractional finance leaders in the UK — CFOs, FDs, and FCs who’ve done this before, at the right stage, in the right sectors — and the matching infrastructure to connect them to the right companies quickly.

More founders with the right financial leadership make better decisions, build more sustainable businesses, and waste less. That’s what we’re working towards.

About enki We’re a small team based in London. Since launching in January 2025, we’ve worked with Allica Bank (Series D), Visible Health (Series A), and more, to provide ready access to flexible finance leadership.

The community has 170+ vetted members who have been interviewed and referenced before joining. The platform is built. The placement process works. What we’re building now is a consistent, scalable way to get more of the right founders in front of us.

About the role This is a commercial role, not a relationship management role. The work is concrete: find founders with finance pain, start the conversation, get the brief, make the placement.

You’re not starting from a blank sheet. enki has proprietary data on every community member — their strengths, working style, sector experience, availability — which means you can personalise outreach in a way most salespeople can’t, and often know who the right match is before a brief has been written. That’s the edge. The role is built around using it.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Most of the pipeline comes from direct outbound. You’ll also run a webinar programme for founders: practical finance sessions that generate inbound and put enki in front of the right people before they know they need us. And you’ll stay active in the enki community itself, working both sides of the marketplace.

What you'll do Run daily outbound to founders at UK startups and own the pipeline from first touch to signed brief Use enki’s community data to personalise campaigns and match talent to companies before a brief has been written Run the webinar program for founders: extract value from community members, and deliver it to ICP founders via fortnightly webinars Stay active in the enki CFO community: surface inbound leads, understand who’s available, know who fits what Support the placement processL intake calls, candidate briefings, coordination. Maintain & own CRM processes (Phase 2) Build partnerships with accelerators & VC firms

About you You’ve spent at least 3–5 years in a GTM or sales role at a startup or scaleup, and you’ve had to generate results without much of a playbook. You know what it takes to build pipeline from scratch. Cold outreach is just part of the job. Sending 50 messages and getting 3 replies is Tuesday, not a reason to reassess. You follow up, you find the side door, you keep going. You’re outgoing. A room full of CFOs or a cold call to a founder you’ve never spoken to isn’t a big deal. You’re interested in startups and finance — not necessarily an expert in either, but curious enough that the conversations feel genuine rather than scripted. You’ve started something yourself, or worked somewhere early enough that you had to wear multiple hats and figure things out.
