Managing Associate – Commercial & Corporate Litigation

William James Recruitment is instructed on behalf of a leading full-service law firm with an international footprint.

The Firm

Our client is a dynamic, entrepreneurial, and internationally recognised law firm, advising a wide spectrum of clients from:

  • Financial institutions

The firm combines sector-specialist knowledge with expertise across traditional practice areas to provide tailored, commercially-focused solutions. With offices across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, it manages complex cross-border and multi-jurisdictional matters, building long-term relationships based on trust, integrity, and collaboration.


The Commercial & Corporate Litigation Team

The team handles the full spectrum of disputes, including:

  • High Court litigation
  • International and domestic arbitration
  • Alternative dispute resolution

Daily work involves:

  • Managing litigation across multiple jurisdictions
  • Relying on experience in:
    • Banking and funds disputes (including derivatives and structured finance)
    • Shareholder and joint-venture disputes
    • Private equity disputes
    • Professional services disputes

Role Overview

We are seeking a Managing Associate to join the Commercial & Corporate Litigation team in London.

Ideal candidate:

  • Substantial post-practice experience (post-qualification) from a top litigation team
  • Suitable candidate ready for a high-profile, high-responsibility role
  • Ability to drive complex, international disputes
  • Knowledge to supervise junior lawyers and develop business strategies

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a diverse caseload of commercial disputes
  • Supervise junior lawyers with delegation and mentorship
  • Build client relationships and lead business development initiatives
  • Deliver actionable strategic and tactical advice
  • Control multi-jurisdictional matters, including coordination with international counsel

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified 2015 or equivalent, with proven experience from a top litigation practice
  • Depth of technical knowledge in commercial and corporate disputes
  • Commercially savvy with measurable contributions to business growth
  • Highly independent mindset for high-demand environments
