Where will you be working?
You will be joining Royal Den Hartogh Logistics, an international and leading logistics service provider for the chemical, gas, polymer and food industries. Our family-owned company has been established since 1920, with safety and sustainability deeply embedded in our DNA.
Together with our customers and partners, we continuously develop smart logistics solutions that support an efficient and future-proof supply chain. With 54 locations across 27 countries, a global team of over 2,600 colleagues, and a modern fleet of 25,000 tank containers, 5,000 dry bulk containers and trailers, 575 tank trailers, and almost 900 trucks, we have everything in place to make an impact worldwide.
The Role
Are you a commercially driven sales professional with a passion for winning new business and building long-term customer relationships?
We are looking for a Commercial Manager to drive commercial growth across an assigned region within our Liquid Food business. This is a true business development role, focused on identifying new customers, securing new transport flows and expanding our logistics network. Working closely with Pricing, Operations and the wider commercial team, you'll help deliver profitable growth while becoming the commercial face of the business in your region.
This role is home based with weekly travel to the offices in Stockton-on-Tees and Immingham.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Identify, develop and win new business opportunities across your assigned region.
- Build strong relationships with Logistics, Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations and Plant Managers.
- Develop spot business opportunities and convert them into long-term customer partnerships.
- Identify backhaul opportunities and complementary transport flows that improve network efficiency and profitability.
- Maintain a healthy pipeline of commercial opportunities, supporting tenders and proposals where required.
- Work collaboratively with Operations and Pricing teams to develop commercially viable solutions.
- Share market intelligence, customer feedback and competitor insights to support regional growth plans.

What We’re Looking For
- 3–5 years' experience in a B2B commercial or sales role within logistics, supply chain, transport or a related industry.
- A proactive, hunter mentality with a proven ability to generate and win new business.
- A growing understanding of transport networks, logistics concepts and regional market dynamics.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify profitable opportunities.
- Excellent relationship-building, communication and negotiation skills.
- Experience working collaboratively across commercial and operational teams.
- Fluent in English; additional European languages would be an advantage.
- Willingness to travel regularly across assigned region.
Desirable
- Experience within liquid food logistics, bulk logistics or intermodal logistics.
- Experience with commercial transport procurement, tender management and network optimisation.
- Familiarity with GMP+ standards, food safety requirements in liquid food logistics.
- Familiarity with contract management systems, CRM tools or commercial reporting platforms.
