Are you an experienced Commercial Manager looking to play a key role in delivering high-quality homes and communities across Wales?
Wates are looking for a Commercial Manager to join our Wales Residential team, supporting the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of residential developments across the region.
Our Commercial Managers are a vital part of our business, providing strong commercial leadership across both work-winning and project delivery activities. This role requires a commercially astute leader who can balance risk, value and performance while supporting operational teams and contributing to the long-term success of the business.
As a Commercial Manager At Wates, You Will
- Lead the commercial strategy across a portfolio of residential projects throughout Wales, ensuring successful project outcomes and strong customer relationships.
- Provide commercial leadership, governance and functional excellence across all pre- and post-contract activities.
- Lead, manage, mentor and develop commercial teams, driving high performance and creating opportunities for growth and succession.
- Utilise strong planning and project management skills to manage multiple complex priorities, applying financial levers to maximise profitability and business performance.
- Ensure robust commercial controls, governance and best practice processes are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across Design, Operations, Land, Development and Pre-Construction to support successful project delivery.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners and supply chain stakeholders, encouraging repeat business opportunities.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement and exceptional customer service across all commercial activities.
- Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities, ensuring informed decision-making and proactive mitigation strategies.
