Morgan Sindall Infrastructure is looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Manager to join our team based in Glasgow.
This is a senior leadership role responsible for managing all commercial aspects of projects and frameworks, ensuring robust commercial performance from pre-contract through to final account. You will play a key role in driving profitability, managing risk, and leading a high-performing commercial team across complex infrastructure projects.
Working closely with operational, design, and pre-construction teams, you will provide strategic commercial direction and ensure successful project delivery aligned with business objectives and customer expectations.
Responsibilities
As a Commercial Manager, you will:
- Lead and deliver the commercial strategy to maximise profitability and performance across projects
- Manage all commercial and contractual aspects of projects, including procurement, cost control, and reporting
- Provide commercial leadership and development to the wider commercial team
- Identify, analyse, and manage commercial risks and opportunities
- Act as the key commercial point of contact for clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with client commercial teams and key stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with contractual, legal, and corporate governance requirements
- Oversee accurate forecasting, cost value reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Assess and manage compensation events, claims, and contractual disputes
- Support pre-contract teams with tendering, pricing, and commercial input
- Implement and continually improve commercial processes, procedures, and best practices
- Contribute to business planning, performance monitoring, and senior leadership decision-making
- Drive a culture focused on collaboration, performance, and continuous improvement
- Ensure project teams are supported with clear commercial insight and guidance
- Lead on supply chain engagement, performance management, and commercial outcomes

Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Experience & Qualifications
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, CIOB)
- Extensive experience in commercial management of high-value infrastructure or construction projects
- Proven ability to manage complex and long-term contracts
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts and commercial frameworks
- Demonstrable experience managing commercial teams and developing talent
- Experience in procurement, financial management, and contract administration
- Proven track record in managing disputes, claims, and commercial negotiations
- Strong understanding of construction processes and project lifecycle
- Experience working with and managing supply chain partners on large-scale projects
