Job Title

Commercial Manager

Summary

We’re recruiting an experienced Commercial Manager to support a high-profile programme in Glasgow within the nuclear and defence sector. This contract role is ideal for someone who thrives in a highly regulated environment, with proven expertise in NEC4 contracts and stakeholder engagement.

This role requires eligibility to obtain UK Security Check (SC) clearance, you must be a British Born UK national

Salary

£70–£87 per hour (Umbrella) or PAYE equivalent, INSIDE IR35 via NRL

Location and Working Pattern

Glasgow – Hybrid working
The role requires a minimum of 3 days per week on-site, with possibility of this going up to 5 days when project needs demand.

Responsibilities

  • Lead commercial delivery on NEC4 contracts across professional services scopes
  • Manage commercial governance and reporting processes in compliance with client procedures
  • Oversee and negotiate compensation events and early warnings to minimise project risk
  • Provide commercial leadership and guidance to internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure accurate contract administration, including cost forecasting and Defined Cost mechanisms
  • Support senior management in strategic decision-making related to contract performance
  • Drive compliance and risk management across all commercial activities

Must-have Requirements

  • Extensive experience with NEC4 contracts, ideally with the Professional Services Contract (PSC)
  • Demonstrable track record managing compensation events, early warnings, and Defined Cost mechanisms
  • Strong commercial leadership background within infrastructure, engineering, nuclear or defence sectors
  • Ability to attend site in Glasgow a minimum of 3 days per week

Nice-to-have Skills

  • Experience mentoring or developing junior commercial staff
  • Familiarity with cost management software or tools used on large engineering projects
