Commercial Manager

Senior Business Development Manager / Commercial Manager

Location: North West – Hybrid Industry: Transport, Warehousing & Logistics Salary: Up to £75,000 base salary plus bonus and car allowance

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial professional who is ready to take on a broader and more commercially rounded position.

Our client is an established UK and international transport and warehousing business, currently in an ambitious period of investment, integration, and transformation. With a strong operational platform, established customer base, and a growing national network, the business now focuses on developing a more coordinated and sophisticated commercial offering across transport, warehousing, and wider supply chain services.

The role will initially concentrate on identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities across the North West. However, this position is designed to offer far greater scope than a traditional Business Development Manager role.

Working closely with the Sales Director, local General Managers, and wider operational teams, the successful candidate will gradually assume greater responsibility for:

  • Commercial planning
  • Account development
  • Customer strategy
  • Regional growth

This is ideal for a successful Senior BDM who wants to broaden their experience and progress towards a Commercial Manager, Regional Commercial Manager, or Sales leadership position.

The Opportunity

The role involves:

  • Developing new customer relationships while also helping the business improve how it manages, grows, and retains its existing commercial portfolio.
  • Working across transport, warehousing, and network-based solutions, identifying where the wider capabilities of the Group can provide additional value to customers.
  • As understanding of the business grows, the role will expand to include:
    • Greater involvement in commercial strategy
    • Pricing, pipeline management, account planning
    • Development of regional growth plans

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
