What You'll Be Doing

You'll take ownership of the commercial management of our interior fit-out projects, ensuring they are delivered profitably whilst protecting Ultimate's commercial interests and maintaining the highest standards of quality and client satisfaction.

Working closely with our Operations, Contracts, Estimating and Finance teams, you'll oversee project budgets, procurement, valuations, variations, contract administration and final accounts, providing commercial guidance throughout the project lifecycle and supporting informed business decisions.

This role offers a genuine opportunity to help shape the future of our commercial function. You'll play a key part in strengthening our commercial processes, improving reporting, implementing best practice and helping build the commercial infrastructure that will support the next phase of Ultimate's growth.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in a Commercial Manager, Senior Quantity Surveyor or similar role within the construction or commercial fit-out sector.
  • Strong commercial awareness and contractual knowledge.
  • Experience managing project budgets, valuations, variations and final accounts.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with great attention to detail.
  • The ability to influence project teams and support commercial decision-making.
  • Experience developing commercial processes and driving continuous improvement.
  • Ambition to grow, develop and help shape the future of the business.
  • A construction-related qualification (HNC, HND or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or similar).
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Commercial interior fit-out experience.
  • Strong knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts.
  • Experience helping establish or develop a commercial function.
  • Professional membership with RICS or CIOB.
  • Experience implementing commercial systems, reporting tools or governance processes.
