Commercial Manager / Senior Commercial Manager – Cost Verification / Cost Assurance

Locations

London, Birmingham or Milton Keynes (Hybrid)

The Opportunity

We're working with a leading construction consultancy that is continuing to grow its specialist Cost Verification (Cost Assurance) team across the UK.

This is an opportunity to join a highly regarded commercial team that provides independent cost verification and assurance services on some of the UK's largest infrastructure, transport, defence, utilities and major capital programmes.

Rather than managing the commercial delivery of a single project, you'll provide independent commercial oversight, ensuring that project costs, contractor submissions and change events are accurate, compliant and represent value for money.

The Role

You'll work closely with major public and private sector clients, reviewing commercial processes and providing assurance across complex programmes.

Typical responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking independent cost verification and commercial assurance reviews.
  • Reviewing contractor applications for payment, valuations and final accounts.
  • Auditing compensation events, variations and change control processes.
  • Assessing contract compliance, primarily under NEC contracts.
  • Challenging costs and identifying commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Producing detailed commercial reports and presenting findings to clients.
  • Supporting governance and assurance processes across major infrastructure programmes.
  • Building strong relationships with clients, contractors and project teams.
  • Mentoring junior members of the commercial team (Senior Commercial Manager level).

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
