Astute’s Team is exclusively partnering with Online Cleaning, a market-leading provider of industrial services across the UK and Europe, supporting major players in the energy, biomass, waste-to-energy, and industrial sectors.
As they expand into new areas, they are now seeking a dynamic and results-driven Commercial Manager to lead their commercial function, develop strong customer relationships, and enhance revenue streams. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing key commercial frameworks, leading contract negotiations, and driving business growth to support their expansion into emerging markets and new areas.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Commercial Manager Role
Reporting to the Managing Director You Will
- Manage commercial frameworks for major clients, including contract negotiation, pricing agreements, and performance analysis.
- Develop, implement, and monitor the commercial strategies to ensure they are aligned with overall company growth objectives.
- Proactively identify and pursue growth opportunities through business development efforts. Conducting market research, generating leads, initiating outreach, engaging prospective clients, and fostering strategic relationships to secure new business.
- Drive expansion into new market sectors and geographies, leveraging opportunities to cross-sell the full range of Online Cleaning services where appropriate.
- Perform cost analysis and margin assessments on projects to drive profitability and efficiency and track project performance.
- Analyse market trends, competitors, and customer needs to support business initiatives and identify any risks for the development of mitigation strategies.
- Support and eventually lead the development of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and P&L management.
- Build strong client relationships and represent the company at networking events and industry functions to promote business services.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the operational teams throughout the UK, ensuring professional development and efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with the Managing Director and play an active role in board-level discussions, contributing to strategic decision-making.
- Uphold compliance with industry standards and promote a safety-first, quality-driven culture.
- Any other duties as required.

Professional Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- HNC/HND or equivalent in Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in a Commercial Manager or senior business development role within heavy industry sectors such as Power, EfW, Biomass, Cement, or Sugar, Petrochemical.
- Experience managing contracts, pricing, and negotiations – ideally with exposure to framework agreements.
- Strong commercial acumen with a solid understanding of P&L management, budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
- Knowledge of EFW/ industrial plant operations is highly beneficial; willingness to learn and grow with support from leadership is essential.
- Comfortable creating and delivering business presentations and commercial proposals.
- Familiarity with CRM, ERP, and standard business management tools with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be comfortable managing a dispersed team and supporting operations across the UK. Travel will be required.

Salary and Benefits of the Commercial Manager Role
- Basic Salary of £90,000 – 100,000 DOE
- Annual Bonus Scheme
- Company Car or Car Allowance
