Commercial Manager
Purpose of the role:
Demonstrable track record of owning and delivering pre- and post-contract activity required with desirable 2+ years’ contracts experience.
What you'll be doing
- Assist the sales team in securing profitable and deliverable new business
- Provide commercial support in:
- Deal shaping
- Negotiations
- Contracting
- Review pricing of existing and new business proposals to ensure alignment with:
- Company margin
- Risk and contingency provisions
- Approve and review all customer and supplier bids/contracts in line with:
- Deal approval governance
- Policy prior to submission/signature
- Identify, manage, and report on key commercial/legal risks, including:
- Communications to the Legal function
- Ongoing support and liaison
- Act as the main point of contact for principal client contract(s), providing in-life contract management
- Review, interpret, and advise on existing contract rights and obligations
- Lead change management of contracts, including:
- Production of BAU (Business As Usual) contract variations
- Produce regular contract reporting as per:
- Governance needs
- Contract requirements
- Ensure contract records are:
- Maintained
- Accessible as directed
- Record, ratify, and circulate commercial/negotiation meeting minutes as required
- Own and perform ongoing contract administration, including:
- Providing contractual templates/toolkits
- Delivering notices
- Support sub-contractor relationship management
- Assist with due diligence and MI/audit data request activities
- Collaborate in client-specific management teams, managing:
- Activity pipeline
- Strategy, review, and performance contributions

What we're looking for
- Strong understanding of bid processes (ITT, RFP, BAFO)
- Ability to identify and analyse:
- Key commercial risks
- KPIs
- SLAs
- Contractual dependencies
- Milestones
- Skilled in contract drafting and negotiation
- Strong knowledge of contract law applied in SW/IT/BPO Professional Services environments
- Basic financial acumen
- Ability to produce:
- Reports
- Summaries for senior/non-commercial audiences
- Proven passion for:
- Completing tasks from start to finish
- Meeting deadlines under pressure
- Resilient and self-motivated
- Confident in seeking support, guidance, and input when needed
- Strong communication skills
