About the Role

The Programme and Project Partners (PPP) model was mobilised in 2019 with the purpose of transforming major project delivery at the Sellafield nuclear site.

The partnership is delivering a 20-year pipeline of major infrastructure projects to support the decommissioning of Sellafield and to create a clean and safe environment for future generations.

In delivering its pipeline of large-scale infrastructure projects, PPP is creating opportunities for its people, supply chain, economy and communities.

KBR’s rapidly growing nuclear team of teams is working at the foremost of the UK’s nuclear space on some of the most exciting new-build, defence and decommissioning programmes.

Role Purpose

To provide end-to-end commercial leadership across PPP projects, shaping commercial and procurement strategies from project initiation through to delivery and handover. The Commercial Manager ensures that projects are established with robust commercial and procurement strategies, delivering:

The role operates as a key member of the project leadership team and acts as the primary commercial advisor to the Project Director, with functional alignment to PPP Commercial leadership.


The Role

As Commercial Manager, you will be a core member of the project leadership team, working closely with the Project Director to shape strategy, guide decision-making and ensure robust commercial governance.

With a strong focus on the early project lifecycle, you will:

  • Define and deliver commercial and procurement strategies
  • Establish route to market and supply chain approach
  • Support business case development and approval
  • Ensure projects are set up for successful delivery and value for money

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading the development of commercial and procurement strategies
  • Shaping route to market and contracting approach
  • Overseeing end-to-end procurement activities
  • Ensuring alignment with PPP Supply Chain Strategy
  • Driving value for money and risk management
  • Managing contracts, cost, forecasting and cash flow
  • Leading and developing commercial teams
  • Providing expert advice to project leadership
  • Supporting supply chain mobilisation and performance

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in commercial or procurement leadership
  • Ability to develop procurement strategies and business cases
  • Knowledge of NEC contracts and procurement frameworks
  • MCIPS or MRICS
  • Experience in infrastructure or regulated environments
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills

Key Skills & Experience

  • Extensive experience in commercial or procurement leadership
  • Strong knowledge of procurement strategy and NEC contracts
  • Experience in major infrastructure or regulated environments
  • Ability to develop business cases and commercial strategies
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • Chartered status (MRICS, MCIPS) desirable
  • Eligible for UK nuclear clearance
