Commercial Manager - UK
We are looking for a results-driven Commercial Manager to lead our UK Commercial team. You will be responsible for delivering profitable growth, developing high-performing teams, strengthening customer partnerships, and implementing commercial strategy to achieve strong business results.
The role has full responsibility for commercial strategy execution, P&L performance, and the leadership of sales and customer service teams. Working closely with EMEA commercial leadership and key functional stakeholders, the Commercial Manager will drive business performance, strengthen customer relationships, and ensure the successful delivery of company objectives while fostering a high-performance culture.
Typical Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the commercial strategy for the UK, ensuring alignment with regional and EMEA objectives while delivering sustainable revenue growth and profitability.
- Drive sales effectiveness through performance management, KPI governance, talent development, and the implementation of best-in-class commercial practices.
- Partner with Marketing to develop and implement market growth initiatives, customer acquisition strategies, and campaigns that support revenue and market share objectives.
- Hold overall accountability for commercial performance, including sales revenue, gross margin, profitability, forecasting, budgeting, and achievement of agreed business targets.
- Lead, coach, and develop high-performing Sales and Customer Service teams, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and customer focus.
- Collaborate with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, HR, and other business functions to ensure effective execution of commercial priorities and delivery of business objectives.
- Analyse market trends, customer insights, competitor activity, and business performance data to identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and inform strategic decision-making in line with central business, SBU, and functional policy guidance.
- Lead commercial transformation and continuous improvement initiatives, driving process standardisation, operational efficiency, and organisational effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, governance requirements, and legal, financial, health & safety, and regulatory standards across the commercial organisation.
- Act as the commercial lead for the UK business, representing the region within the wider EMEA commercial organisation, and contributing to broader strategic initiatives and business planning activities.
- Ensure performance management, succession planning, and employee development processes are in place. Provide consistent and fair opportunities for training and development across the commercial team.

Skills and Experience:
- Significant experience in a commercial, sales leadership, business management, or general management role within a B2B environment.
- Proven track record of developing and executing commercial strategies that deliver sustainable revenue growth, margin improvement, and profitable business expansion.
- Demonstrable P&L ownership with responsibility for revenue, profitability, forecasting, and budget management.
- Degree qualified in Business, Commercial Management, Engineering, Economics, or a related discipline, or equivalent commercial leadership experience.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen with the ability to analyse market, customer, and business performance data to drive strategic decision-making.
- Proven experience leading and developing commercial teams through coaching, performance management, and talent development.
- Able to lead through organisational change and create a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
- Strong ability to influence, collaborate, and build effective relationships across matrix organisations, including senior stakeholders, key customers, and cross-functional teams.
- Experience driving process improvements, standardisation, and efficiency initiatives across commercial functions.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong working knowledge of CRM systems, Microsoft Excel, and business intelligence tools.
- Experience within industrial manufacturing or industrial components sectors (Desirable).
- Experience leading commercial transformation initiatives (Desirable).
