Role Description
The Commercial Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the London Area, United Kingdom. This role is responsible for overseeing commercial activities across healthcare construction projects, including managing contracts, monitoring project finances, and ensuring compliance with commercial and legal requirements.

Responsibilities

- Preparing and reviewing cost plans and budgets
- Supporting business planning
- Managing risks and opportunities
- Contributing to commercial strategies that enhance profitability and value for clients
- Leading QS and Procurement teams
- Working closely with project managers, design and engineering teams, and external stakeholders
- Negotiating commercial terms and resolving issues promptly
- Supporting team performance
- Reporting on commercial KPIs
- Contributing to continuous improvement of commercial processes and systems
Qualifications
- Strong commercial and contract expertise, including Commercial Management and Contract Management skills.
- Robust analytical and planning abilities, including Analytical Skills and Business Planning skills.
- Proven leadership and collaboration capabilities, including Team Management and cross-functional stakeholder management.
- Experience in construction or engineering sectors, ideally within healthcare or complex infrastructure environments.
- Solid understanding of commercial law, procurement processes, and standard forms of contract (e.g., NEC, JCT) is advantageous.
- Excellent numeracy, written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in commercial documentation.
- Ability to work on-site in the London Area, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant professional qualification or degree in quantity surveying, construction management, business, finance, or a related field; professional accreditation (e.g., RICS or similar) is an asset.
