Role: Commercial Manager – Data Centre MEP

Location: UK-Based Role | 12-Month Assignment/relocation to Jakarta, Indonesia

Employment: 12-Month FTC with Permanent Option

Relocation Package: Accommodation, Flights & Visa Support Provided

We are working with a leading UK-based specialist contractor delivering complex MEP and mission-critical projects internationally.

Following the award of a major new project, they are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to take commercial responsibility for a circa £45m MEP fit-out of a hyperscale data centre in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The successful candidate will be employed through the UK business before relocating to Jakarta for an initial 12-month assignment. The client will provide full visa support, accommodation and travel as part of the relocation package.

What you'll be doing

  • Taking overall commercial responsibility for a circa £45m MEP fit-out package
  • Managing the commercial performance of the project from mobilisation through delivery and final account
  • Leading cost control, forecasting, reporting and cash flow management
  • Preparing and managing CVRs and providing accurate commercial reporting to senior management
  • Managing subcontractor procurement, tendering, negotiation and appointments
  • Overseeing subcontractor accounts, valuations and payments
  • Managing variations, change control and contractual notices
  • Identifying and mitigating commercial and contractual risks
  • Working closely with Project Directors, Project Managers, procurement and site delivery teams
  • Managing client valuations and supporting commercial negotiations
  • Ensuring contractual obligations and commercial procedures are followed throughout delivery
  • Building strong relationships with the client, supply chain and wider project stakeholders
  • Driving the project through to successful commercial close-out and final account

  • Proven experience as a Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor on major construction projects
  • Strong MEP commercial experience is essential
  • Experience working for an MEP contractor, specialist contractor or main contractor delivering substantial MEP packages
  • Data centre or mission-critical project experience would be highly advantageous
  • Experience managing large-scale, high-value projects through the full commercial lifecycle
  • Strong knowledge of subcontract procurement, cost management, variations and final accounts
  • Excellent contractual and commercial awareness
  • Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Previous international project experience would be advantageous but is not essential
  • Willingness to relocate to Jakarta for approximately 12 months
