Elevation Sales are delighted to be partnered with Howco, with the search & selection of the Commercial Manager role for their Oil & Gas division.
Location: Sheffield
About the role:
The Commercial Manager leads the sales and commercial strategy for the UK Oil & Gas Sales segment within the European Distribution Division. The role drives revenue growth, manages key client relationships, and ensures alignment between commercial activities and broader organisational objectives.
This is a senior leadership role requiring a strong understanding of the commercial landscape within oil & gas, including market dynamics, procurement frameworks, contract negotiation, pricing strategy, and customer relationship management.

The ideal candidate will bring proven leadership experience managing high-performing sales teams and, ideally, have additional exposure to the metals or industrial materials sector, enabling them to identify cross-sector opportunities and strengthen our market position. Strong working knowledge of the oil & gas commercial landscape, including Experience within the metals, steel, alloys, or wider industrial materials sector Proven success leading, managing, and developing high-performing commercial and sales teams Strong day-to-day operational management skills, with the ability to effectively oversee team performance, set clear priorities, manage workloads, and ensure consistent delivery against commercial objectives A confident and credible leader with the ability to influence change, challenge existing ways of working, and drive continuous improvement across commercial functions Demonstrated ability to lead through change, embedding new processes, strategies, and behaviours to enhance business performance Track record of delivering sustainable revenue growth and securing major commercial contracts Strong negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills at all levels Highly commercially astute, with strong strategic thinking and decision-making capability Excellent communication skills, with the ability to motivate teams and build alignment across departments
