About The Role

We’re looking for an ambitious and creative Commercial Manager to lead and grow the commercial success of SportBU. This is an exciting opportunity to shape a diverse portfolio that includes partnerships, sponsorship, memberships, events, retail, and facility use.

In this role, you’ll develop and deliver a clear commercial strategy—turning ideas into action through engaging campaigns, strong partnerships, and data-led decision making. You’ll identify new opportunities for growth while ensuring everything we deliver enhances the experience for students, staff, and the wider community.

Working as part of the SportBU leadership team, you’ll collaborate with colleagues across the university, the Students’ Union, and external partners to create innovative, inclusive, and financially sustainable services. You’ll also play a key role in building and managing relationships with sponsors and partners, helping to raise the profile and impact of SportBU.

Alongside strategic leadership, you’ll take a hands-on approach—overseeing budgets, driving performance, and using insight and data to continuously improve results. You’ll lead and support a dedicated team, creating a positive, inclusive environment where people feel empowered to succeed.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing big-picture thinking with delivery, and who is motivated by making a meaningful impact in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment.

About The Department

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
