Team Overview:

The Procurement team manages the sourcing and purchasing of materials, equipment, and services essential to project delivery. By building strong supplier relationships, negotiating competitive terms, and ensuring timely delivery, the department supports cost control and project schedules. Their proactive approach helps maintain quality standards while optimising value and reducing supply chain risks across all projects.

Role Overview:

We have an excellent opportunity for a commercial buyer to assist in the procurement of all Mechanical & Electrical material for all live projects. You will work closely with our Procurement and Accounts teams in ensuring the smooth transition of all Mechanical orders from Technical Submittal, to full Procurement and through to final stages of invoicing.

The Senior Mechanical & Electrical Buyer is responsible for the strategic sourcing and procurement of mechanical and electrical materials, equipment, and subcontract services. This role ensures cost-effective purchasing, timely delivery, technical compliance, and strong supplier relationships to support project and operational requirements.

What You'll be Doing

  • Responsible for end-to-end procurement and supplier management of mechanical and electrical materials and equipment, ensuring alignment with project specifications and technical requirements. This includes sourcing, issuing RFQs/RFPs, conducting commercial evaluations, negotiating terms, placing and tracking orders, and managing supplier performance and relationships.
  • Works closely with engineering, project, and site teams to ensure compliance with drawings, standards, and procurement schedules, while supporting value engineering and alternative sourcing.
  • Monitors budgets, cost savings, market trends, and supply risks, maintains accurate records, ensures process compliance, and produces reports for management and audits, driving efficiency and continuous improvement.
