Commercial Non-Executive Director

Independent Non-Executive Director Opportunity - Together Housing Group

Do you want to be part of a progressive, creative organisation, where a commercial approach aligns with delivering meaningful social value outcomes?

Together Housing Group is seeking applications from independent individuals with the skills and passion to serve as Non-Executive Directors on the Together Commercial Board and Commercial Committee.

The Group:

  • Manages over 38,000 homes across Lancashire, Yorkshire, Derbyshire, and Lincolnshire – spanning from east to west coasts.
  • Launched its Corporate Plan for 2026–2031, shaping its next five-year strategic direction.

About the Role

A key opportunity exists to strengthen Together Housing’s governance, focusing on commercial strategy, property development, renewables, and progressive housing solutions.

The time commitment is estimated at one day per month, with a mix of:

  • Virtual preparation and reference materials review
  • In-person and online meetings

Requirements

Preferred Skills/Experience :

Essential (but not exclusively limited to):

  • Construction and development experience
  • Professional housing or property development background, including:
    • Housing development through Joint Ventures
    • Property sales and market strategy
  • Renewables and low-carbon energy sector knowledge
  • Contract management expertise

Benefits & Commitment

Remuneration: £5,899 per annum plus reasonable travel expenses.

Commitment Needed (~7 days per year):

  • Four committee meetings (50% virtual, 50% in person)
  • Annual strategy days (typically North Yorkshire)
  • Two to three additional in-person sessions annually

Associated Travel:

Face-to-face meetings are held in key Northern England locations: 📍 Blackburn (BB1 1JD) 📍 Wakefield (WF1 1PS) Plus: 📍 Halifax (panel meeting similar requirement)

Applicants from further afield are welcome, but must be expandable to travel for in-person meetings.
