Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the Commercial Officer will be part of our Central Commercial team, providing commercial support across our Transport division. The role is focused on supporting the management, review and negotiation of bids and contracts, ensuring robust commercial processes are followed across the business.
This is a hybrid role, with the expectation of working from our Warwick office 2 days per week.
What You'll Do
- Coordinate the execution of Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) and other contractual documents with customers, managing the signature process from start to finish.
- Take ownership of the purchase order acceptance process, ensuring orders are reviewed, processed and accepted in line with company procedures.
- Work closely with Sales and Delivery teams to resolve commercial queries and ensure the correct processes are followed.
- Support the review of bids and contracts under the guidance of the Legal and Commercial team, providing advice on commercial structures, identifying risks, and assisting with contract negotiation and drafting.
- Collaborate with the Central Commercial team to support the implementation of commercial strategies across the Transport business, aligned with Telent's values and objectives.
- Build strong working relationships with colleagues across the business to develop an understanding of Telent's commercial approach, as well as the needs of our customers and suppliers.
- Contribute to the successful delivery of commercial initiatives across Telent's Transport and Network Services business units.

Who You Are
You'll have previous experience in an office-based commercial or administrative role, with excellent organisational skills and the confidence to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. You enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, have a keen eye for detail, and are comfortable managing multiple priorities.
Key Requirements
- Previous experience providing commercial or administrative support, ideally within engineering, infrastructure, telecommunications, transport or a similar industry.
- Strong interpersonal, organisational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A good understanding of commercial risks and contractual issues, with experience of contract drafting and/or negotiation desirable.
- The ability to build effective relationships and communicate confidently with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
