Commercial Operations Manager
Salary: £50,000 (OTE: £56,000)
Location: Bedford
Hybrid working (3 days in office)
34.5 hours per week

Are you an experienced commercial leader with a passion for driving operational excellence, developing high-performing teams, and improving customer experience?
We're partnering with an established and growing manufacturing business, who are a leader in their field, to recruit a Commercial Operations Manager. This is a senior leadership opportunity where you'll oversee key commercial support functions, optimise internal processes and work cross-functionally to drive sustainable growth and operational performance.
You’ll lead several customer-facing and commercial support functions, ensuring they operate efficiently while delivering an exceptional customer experience. You'll be responsible for aligning sales support, estimating, customer service and technical teams, improving processes, developing people, and using data to drive better commercial decisions. This is a highly collaborative role with significant influence across the wider business.

- 34.5 hour working week – early finish on Fridays

Key Responsibilities for a Commercial Operations Manager
- Lead and develop multiple commercial support teams, creating a high-performance culture
- Drive collaboration between sales, customer service, technical, and operational departments
- Oversee commercial processes to improve efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability
- Monitor pricing strategies and commercial performance, ensuring competitive and commercially sound decision-making
- Develop and implement process improvements, automation and system enhancements
- Coach, mentor, and develop team leaders and their teams
- Own sales forecasting, reporting, and commercial analysis to support business planning
- Use CRM and business intelligence data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives and support wider business transformation projects

Key Skills for a Commercial Operations Manager
- Significant experience leading commercial operations, internal sales, customer service or commercial support teams
- Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of developing high-performing teams
- Experience improving business processes, systems, and operational efficiency
- Commercially minded with strong financial awareness and experience managing budgets, margins, and performance
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed business decisions
- Experience working with CRM systems, ERP platforms, and reporting tools
- A collaborative leadership style with a passion for continuous improvement
