Commercial Planning Analyst

Main Responsibilities

Maintain commercial plans for your defined region or commercial function, ensuring alignment of activity throughout the commercial team and with other functions Embed and lead commercial reviews in your region reviewing trading performance and delivery of initiatives to proactively highlight opportunities and actions to maximise EBIT Lead on production and coordination of rolling forecasts as appropriate, linking in with the relevant commercial function and finance to produce robust and deliverable forecasts Support the commercial planning team in the development of analytical techniques and use of insight to drive business performance Provide the steer to the Head of Commercial for inputs to budget and forecasts as required reflecting latest trends and commercial initiatives Support the Heads of Commercial in developing short, mid and long term market commercial plans, ensuring insight to the network performance, market and competition is maintained Support the Heads of Commercial and Network Managers with coordinating the implementation of commercial change by providing analytical support and through ensuring action plans are developed and completed, supporting on business cases where appropriate Support the Head of Network Development, Head of Concessions and Pricing and Commercial Optimisation Manager with insight to drive plans and improvements Ensure commercial outputs are maintained through a log of all change allowing these to be tracked and captured in forecasts Support the creation of robust local market plans, ensuring they match customer requirements, and position the business for long term sustainable growth in line with the UK Bus strategies. Ensure relevant commercial inputs are coordinated including tender masterfile Facilitate and support Key Account Manager plans through maintaining area stakeholder maps and meetings. Respond to adhoc data requests as required e.g. adhoc Local Authority requirements

Essential Postholder Requirements

Strong commercial acumen, able to consider impact on contribution in all decisions Strong organisational and project management skills Able to translate complex commercial solutions into easy-to-understand outcomes and communicate effectively both orally and in writing with confidence to different levels of management including senior managers. Logical and lateral thinker, able to solve problems considering business needs Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills Experience of understanding and working with KPI’s Experience of managing conflicting work priorities, and to plan to meet strict deadlines Strong goal orientation with ability to prioritise work effectively in order to achieve high standards of performance within very demanding deadlines.
