Commercial Planning Intern – Moët Hennessy UK
Position
Working within the Revenue Growth & Planning team, the Commercial Planning Intern will support the day-to-day commercial planning activities of Moët Hennessy UK, with a strong focus on data accuracy, forecasting, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration.
This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in commercial operations and value creation, while working closely with sales teams and internal stakeholders. The intern will contribute to volume and revenue forecasting, reporting processes, and business analysis to support robust decision-making and commercial strategy execution.
Important Notes:
- All internships are full-time 12-month contracts.
- You must have the right to work in the UK.
Job Responsibilities
This role will act as a commercial planning partner across selected channels, supporting key stakeholders in the following areas:
Key Channels Supported
- Direct & Indirect On-Trade
- Route to Market (RTM)
- Additional key channels: Retail, Private Sales, Corporate, Sponsorship, and Festivals
Core Duties
✅ Sales & Strategic Support
- Support the sales team in planning activities and processes
- Act as the first point of contact for commercial investment creation and amendment requests
- Assist the sales team in creating new customers in SAP & Aspire
- Collaborate with commercial partners in reviewing and challenging forecast accuracy for volume, price, investment, and assumptions—including the full price waterfall analysis

✅ Forecasting & Reporting
- Update monthly forecast accuracy and variance dashboards
- Share key performance updates and trends with relevant stakeholders for informed decision-making
✅ Stock & Depletion Management
- Drive data collection, reporting, and analysis for wholesale customers
- Process monthly data and highlight critical insights to stakeholders
- Support BI tool maintenance and provide commentary on key data developments
- Ensure multiple Power BI data sources remain accurate for On-Trade dashboards
- Assist in managing end-of-year stock landing for major wholesale customers
✅ Data Management & Analysis
- Consolidate data for key commercial reports and ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Build expertise in business intelligence tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
- Develop an understanding of business concepts behind the data to provide meaningful analysis
- Train stakeholders on relevant tools and reports (customising communication for different audiences)
- Produce analysis and insights for Sales and Marketing teams

Education
- A degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field. (Equivalent experience considered.)
Professional Experience & Knowledge
🔹 Commercial systems/data management experience is a plus. 🔹 Understanding of P&L (Profit & Loss) and value chain concepts beneficial. 🔹 Must be able to work closely with multiple stakeholders to enhance efficiency and support business objectives.
🌍 An interest in the wines and spirits industry is advantageous.
Technical Skills
✔ Advanced Excel skills (including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, SUMIFS) ✔ VBA knowledge is a plus ✔ Familiarity with data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau is a precursor ✔ Strong Microsoft Office knowledge (including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint)

📞 Strong communication and active listening skills required. 🤝 Must be a team player with a collaborative mindset. ⏱️ Excellent organisation, time management, and planning abilities. 🔄 Rigorous, adaptable, and proactive with the ability to work autonomously. ➕ Comfortable working with numbers and data. 💡 Curious, eager to learn, and quick to grasp new concepts.
Languages
📢 Fluent English is mandatory. 🌐 A second international language is a plus.
