With an initial focus on driving and capturing ocean export trade lines, we are seeking a commercially minded, operationally experienced individual to serve as the core support network for all spot and ad hoc ocean freight enquiries entering our UK business.

Reporting directly to the Regional Manager in Leeds, you will collaborate closely with Business Development Managers and Customer Success Managers to price, negotiate, and convert spot and ad hoc enquiries.

Your Role:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all ad hoc and spot ocean freight quotation requests, managing enquiries through CargoWise / Zendesk.
  • Proactively engage, build rapport, and negotiate with suppliers and ocean carriers to secure the most competitive rates and routing options.
  • Directly prepare and issue professional, accurate ocean freight quotations to customers, ensuring a high-quality, reliable, and prompt response.
  • Own the quote-to-conversion journey: tracking open quotations, retaining feedback, and understanding competitor positioning to help the business refine its ocean pricing strategy.
  • Evaluate specific destination aspects, local requirements, and legal/compliance parameters to accurately forecast and capture all end-to-end export shipping costs.
  • Partner closely with BDMs and Customer Success Managers to support their pursuit of new export business opportunities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
