Job Title

Commercial Product Specialist (CPS) Feeding

Location

Field based, travel to the office when required.

Manager Proposition Feeding

Hours of Work

37.5 hours per week

Organisational Context

The Commercial Product Specialist is part of Cluster Atlantic (UK and Ireland). Clusters are representing Lely on sales and service of chosen propositions in a specific region. Clusters collaborate with both local Lely Centers (Franchises) and Lely International located in Maassluis, The Netherlands (Head Office). Lely Atlantic support the Lely Centers as part of their Franchise fee to Lely International.

Lely International operates a Matrix organisational chart headed up by Business Leads (Manager Proposition) of the product ranges. They are the “what and the when” and the competencies Service Team are the “how and the who”.

The Commercial Product Specialist

Reports both hierarchically and operationally to the Manager Proposition Feeding The CPS and the Feeding Business Team are together responsible for the entire proposition. The CPS has extensive knowledge of the specific products from the Lely product portfolio making them a specialist Translates commercial market demands into added value initiatives for the internal organisation both locally (Cluster) and centrally (Business Teams and Competencies at Head Quarters). Works closely with Manager Proposition, Account Manager and Marketing within the Cluster and the Sales Departments in the Lely Centers to drive commercial activities related to the Feeding Proposition.

Job Summary

The CPS supports and trains the Lely Centers on the different products and the use of Lely’s commercial tools. The CPS plans, directs and supports commercial activities in the Lely Centers and transfers product knowledge to achieve maximum market penetration.

The CPS is responsible for:

  • Strengthening the Lely Centers and helping them to become more commercially successful using the Global Manual, the Lely Way of Working (LWOW) and other tools.
  • Driving the adoption of robotics and assisting with New Product Introductions (NPI’s) and process from a national perspective and enhancing customer-centricity to continue to maximise Lely’s national market share.
  • Providing information to secure sales and customer satisfaction through continuous market observations and competitive analysis and via development and implementation of sales promoting measures.
  • Ensuring Sales teams in the Lely Centers actively use the CRM tool, maintain proper funnel management practises and update all necessary information regularly.

Key Responsibilities

General

  • Provided input to the Manager Proposition Feeding for drawing up the Cluster and Lely Center budgets based on the Cluster Market analysis and local market knowledge.
  • Collection and processing of relevant market information, e.g. market shares, potentials per region and sales structures of competitors etc.
  • Translating, proofreading and editing communications from a sales orientated technical point of view.
  • Is involved in validation programmes of new products to be able to create the translation of the USP’s to the end customer.
  • Determine and roll out of knowledge and commercial tools to be offered the Lely Centers for commercial support
  • Monitoring the reliability of the sales funnel

Training Support

  • Trains the Lely Centers sales teams and project co-ordinators on the Lely propositions and sales tools.
  • Localises and tailors’ materials and documentation to meet local market need
  • Establishes the needs of the Lely Centers Sales Managers and Lely Center Sales Advisors and the demand that comes from the field together with the Account Manager.
  • Co-travels with the Lely Center Advisors until they have gained the maturity/seniority to do the visits independently.
  • Collaborates in the international workshops and shares experiences and exchanges the best practices between the Lely Centers.

NPI (New Product Introductions)

  • Ensures the transformation of validated product information into relevant technical and sales material in co-ordination with Marketing, FMS (Farm Manager Support) and TSS (Technical Service Support)
  • Market observation and introduction of future product ideas. Supports in the preparation of forecasts.
  • Preparation of competitive comparisons.
  • Preparation, support and supervision of product launches or product improvements.

Distribution Development

  • Assists in the development and realisation of Lely Center LDF Plans.
  • Acts as a point of contact for Lely International (LINT) team and the Lely Center network concerning commercial and technical questions (sales related) about the Lely product range
  • Sales support at customer consultations, trade fairs and event.

Stakeholder Management

  • Maintains and develops relationships with key stakeholders in the market.
  • Work closely with Product Management at International levels to communicate and address local need.
