Your role

Role

You will play a key role in developing, managing, and delivering a portfolio of infrastructure projects and programmes that support the city’s growth ambitions. Acting as an informed client, you will work closely with technical teams, consultants, contractors, and partners to ensure successful programme delivery. We want you to:

  • Lead the commercial and programme management of infrastructure and highway projects.
  • Support the development of business cases, funding bids, and investment opportunities.
  • Manage programme budgets, forecasting, governance, and risk.
  • Commission and oversee the design and delivery of infrastructure schemes.
  • Develop commercial, procurement, and contract management strategies.
  • Build effective relationships with TfGM, developers, contractors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Support programme governance, performance reporting, and continuous improvement.
  • Work with elected members, senior leaders, and partner organisations to help deliver the city’s infrastructure priorities.

Your profile

  • A degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline.
  • Significant experience in infrastructure, regeneration, or capital project delivery.
  • Proven experience managing project budgets, contracts, and programme delivery.
  • Strong commercial awareness, including procurement and contract management.
  • Experience working with contractors, consultants, statutory bodies, and partner organisations.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including engagement with senior decision-makers.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience of managing or supporting others within project or programme teams.
