The Role
An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Projects Solicitor to join a highly regarded Projects team handling a broad range of complex commercial contracts and strategic projects. Acting for a diverse client base across the public and private sectors, you will advise on high-value commercial agreements, major projects, and long-term contractual arrangements. The role will involve drafting, negotiating, and structuring sophisticated commercial contracts, managing matters from instruction through to completion, and delivering pragmatic, commercially focused advice. You will also play an active role in mentoring junior lawyers, supporting business development initiatives, and contributing to the continued growth and success of the team.
The Candidate
Applications are welcomed from qualified Solicitors with a minimum of 10 years PQE and substantial commercial contracts experience. You will have a strong background advising on complex commercial projects, ideally involving Government departments or organisations contracting with the public sector. Excellent drafting, negotiation, and project management skills are essential, together with the ability to provide pragmatic, commercially focused advice. Experience of the Model Services Contract, public procurement matters, or existing Security Clearance would be advantageous but is not essential. The successful candidate will also demonstrate strong leadership skills, experience mentoring junior lawyers, and a commitment to business development.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
