Location: Sheffield (This is a hybrid role with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office)
South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) manages a diverse portfolio of commercial property, transport assets and strategic sites that support the region’s economic growth, public transport network and wider regeneration ambitions.
We are seeking an experienced Commercial Property Manager to play a key role in the management, development and optimisation of our property portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded property professional to help maximise the value and performance of assets while ensuring they continue to meet operational, organisational and community needs.

About The Role
As Commercial Property Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of SYMCA’s commercial property and transport estate, including commercial premises, transport interchanges and land assets.
Working closely with the Head of Facilities & Asset Management, you will support the delivery of asset management strategies, drive value for money across the portfolio and ensure assets are managed effectively, safely and in line with organisational objectives.
The role includes managing leases and property agreements, overseeing tenant relationships, supporting procurement and contract management activities, maintaining asset information and contributing to strategic property decisions. You will also act as deputy to the Head of Facilities & Asset Management when required.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage SYMCA’s property and land portfolio to maximise performance, value and operational effectiveness.
- Support the development and delivery of asset management and property strategies.
- Lead property management activities including lease negotiations, renewals, tenant liaison and asset reviews.
- Monitor property performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, utilisation and value for money.
- Conduct inspections and audits to ensure compliance with lease obligations, statutory requirements and maintenance standards.
- Manage tenant-related matters, including income monitoring and working with colleagues to resolve issues where necessary.
- Maintain accurate property and asset records and support statutory reporting requirements.
- Lead the implementation and ongoing management of property and facilities management systems.
- Support procurement, contract management and supplier performance monitoring activities.
- Provide professional advice and support on property and asset management matters across the organisation.

About You
We are looking for a knowledgeable and commercially focused property professional with experience managing a diverse property portfolio and delivering effective asset management solutions.
You will have a strong understanding of commercial property management, lease arrangements, contract management and procurement processes. You will be comfortable analysing information, identifying risks and opportunities, and making recommendations that support both operational and strategic objectives.
You will be an effective communicator with strong stakeholder management skills, capable of working collaboratively with tenants, contractors, professional advisers and internal colleagues. You will also have a proactive and organised approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes.
Most importantly, you will be committed to ensuring SYMCA's assets are managed efficiently, sustainably and in a way that delivers maximum benefit for the organisation and the communities it serves.
