About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team at Western Building Systems. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a well‑established construction specialist delivering high‑quality modular, panelised and timber frame projects across Ireland and the UK.
The successful candidate will work closely with project and site teams, supporting the commercial management of projects from pre‑contract through to final account. This role offers strong long‑term career development within a growing business that values in‑house expertise, collaboration and commercial excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the commercial management of construction projects from tender stage to completion
- Prepare and manage cost plans, budgets and valuations
- Procurement of subcontractors and suppliers
- Preparation and negotiation of subcontractor packages
- Monitor project costs and report on commercial performance
- Manage variations, applications for payment and final accounts
- Work closely with project managers and site teams to ensure cost control
- Support accurate forecasting and reporting throughout the project lifecycle

About You
- Experience in a Quantity Surveying role within the construction industry is desirable
- Degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline preferred
- Experience preferred; however training and development will be provided for less experienced candidates who demonstrate a strong desire to learn and progress
- Familiarity with a range of construction contract forms is desirable
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
