We’re working with one of the UK’s most established specialist finance businesses to recruit a Commercial Relationship Manager for its Invoice Finance team. This is a strong opportunity to inherit an established portfolio, work with good-quality commercial clients and join a business with an excellent reputation in the market.

Package

  • £45,000–£55,000 basic salary
  • Company car
  • 20% annual bonus
  • Hybrid working
  • Strong wider benefits package

The lender has been long established and operates across several areas of specialist finance, giving employees genuine long-term stability and plenty of scope to develop their careers.

The culture is a major part of the opportunity. People tend to stay with the business, with average employee tenure sitting at around 9 years. The leadership team is supportive, approachable and known for helping people progress rather than simply managing performance.

The role

You’ll take responsibility for an existing portfolio of around 45–50 commercial clients across London, South East or Thames Valley.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The role is focused on building strong, long-term relationships with business owners and becoming a trusted point of contact for their funding requirements. You’ll manage facility reviews, monitor performance, support clients through challenges and identify opportunities to strengthen or grow existing relationships.

This is not a heavily sales-led position. The emphasis is on client retention, service, commercial judgement and delivering the right outcome for both the customer and the lender. You’ll work closely with internal credit, risk and operations teams, while also spending time out meeting clients across the region. The role offers a good balance between working from home, visiting customers and attending the London office when required.

Why consider it?

  • An established portfolio from day one
  • A highly regarded name within specialist finance
  • Strong internal support from experienced credit and operations teams
  • A people-focused culture with excellent staff retention
  • Supportive leadership and genuine mentoring
  • Clear opportunities to progress across a wider financial services group
  • Hybrid working with autonomy to manage your own diary
  • A role centred around quality relationships rather than constant new business pressure
