Direct Services Commercial Lead Technician

We’re seeking an experienced and proactive maintenance professional to take the next step into a leadership role as a Direct Services Commercial Lead Technician within our Reactive Repairs team. In this position, you’ll deliver high-quality maintenance services across our commercial and hostel sites, playing a crucial role in ensuring reliability, value for money, and alignment with our high standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reporting to a Head of Service or Operations Manager, you will lead a dedicated team of technicians, managing workloads to ensure a responsive, efficient, and customer-focused service.
  • Drive performance against key KPIs, promoting a "first-time fix" approach while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
  • Guarantee all works are completed on time and in accordance with contractual requirements.
  • Foster a safety-first culture and productive team environment to deliver outstanding customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently to ensure seamless coordination between technicians, residents, and colleagues.

Requirements

  • A full UK driving licence (clean driving record required).
  • Previous working experience in Housing Associations, House Builders, Local Authorities, or Construction Contractors, preferably in roles such as Site Supervisor, Site Manager, or Foreperson.
  • Proven leadership skills to drive a culture rooted in our company values, inspiring and motivating a team across all levels and fostering long-term commitment to our vision.
  • Demonstrates a blended management style, supporting operatives, residents, and colleagues with self-awareness and a genuine commitment to service improvement.
  • Strong ability to make sound judgements, solve complex problems, identify and manage risks effectively.
  • Positive attitude towards collaborative teamwork with residents and colleagues.
