Business Development Manager / Sales Manager
Are you an ambitious and strategic Commercial Manager looking for a step up or simply a new challenge with a fresh company? This could be your opportunity.
About the Role
The Commercial Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth and profitability across the Automotive, Aviation, Industrial, and Medical sectors. This is a hands-on role for a proven sales professional capable of:
- Developing and executing a commercial strategy
- Actively winning new business, growing key accounts, and driving team performance
- Taking ownership of UK sales revenue and profitability
- Leading and developing the sales team
- Establishing pricing strategies and managing budgets and forecasts
- Building strong customer and industry partnerships
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver the UK commercial and sales strategy
- Drive revenue growth and profitability across the target sectors
- Identify and secure new business opportunities
- Manage, motivate, and develop the UK sales team
- Set sales targets, KPIs, and performance objectives
- Produce sales budgets, forecasts, and regular performance reports
- Establish and manage pricing policies
- Create and maintain strong customer relationships through engagements, visits, and networking
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities

The role offers remote working with the need to commute to the headquarters in Northampton at least once per month. Initial training will also take place on-site for the first few weeks of employment.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a Commercial Manager, Sales Manager, or Business Development Manager role
- Preference for candidates with a background in Automotive, Industrial Manufacturing, Aviation, or Medical sectors
- Highly desirable if you have experience in plastic injection moulding, PU conversion/manufacturing, acoustic products, or related industries
- Strong track record of delivering sales growth and winning new business
- Previous experience in managing and developing sales teams
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Commercially minded with a proven history of budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning
