Commercial/Procurement Solicitor (12-Month Assignment)


Programme

Source to Pay (S2P) / COUPA Implementation Location: Worthing / Hybrid Rate: £600 per day via umbrella company


The Role

We are seeking a dedicated Lawyer to provide essential legal support during the implementation of a new Source to Pay (S2P) system (COUPA) as part of a major transformation programme.

Key Focus Areas

  • Standardising, simplifying, and integrating legal and procurement documentation
  • Ensuring compliance, efficiency, and scalability within a system-led environment
  • Aligning legal frameworks with system workflows ahead of go-live

The role requires close collaboration between Procurement, Legal, and Programme stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities

Contract Templates & Clause Library

  • Develop a structured and standardised clause library within COUPA
  • Review and rationalise existing contractual clauses
  • Ensure all clauses are clearly categorised and system-ready

Contract Template Development

  • Build and configure a suite of standard contract templates
  • Align templates with current legal and procurement standards
  • Optimise templates for automated workflows

Procurement Documentation

  • Configure standard procurement documentation, including:
    • RFQ / RFP / ITT documents
    • Call-offs and direct awards
    • Standard legal communications (NDAs, novations, termination, and extension letters)
  • Support transitioning to system-led procurement processes while reducing manual input

Commercial Rules & Guidance

  • Develop a Commercial Rules Book, detailing:
    • Use of standard clauses and templates
    • Approval thresholds and escalation points
    • Key legal and commercial guardrails
  • Produce clear guidance materials for consistent application

Programme Support

  • Serve as the primary legal point of contact for the S2P programme
  • Support system design, testing, and implementation
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver outputs on time
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer ahead of go-live

About You

  • Strong background in commercial contracts and procurement law
  • Experience in creating and managing contract templates and clause libraries
  • Ability to translate legal requirements into practical, system-based solutions
  • Familiarity with transformation programmes or ERP/S2P systems is highly desirable
