Join the RAC as a Commercial Solicitor and play a key role in providing legal advice and guidance across a diverse range of business areas.
As part of our Corporate Legal Team, you'll support stakeholders across the RAC Group on a broad range of commercial and legal matters. From negotiating commercial contracts to advising on technology, marketing, intellectual property and operational issues, you'll help manage legal risk while enabling the business to achieve its strategic objectives.
This is an opportunity to work on varied, high-profile matters within a well-known household brand, while developing your career in a collaborative and supportive legal team.
What You'll Do
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements
- Provide practical and commercially focused legal advice across the RAC Group
- Advise on matters relating to technology, intellectual property, marketing, brand licensing and other commercial arrangements
- Support the efficient and cost-effective resolution of disputes and contentious matters
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business
- Identify legal risks and provide pragmatic recommendations to support decision-making
- Advise on day-to-day operational matters and respond to ad-hoc legal queries
- Liaise with external legal advisers where appropriate
- Help promote legal best practice, governance and compliance across the business
- Support and mentor junior members of the legal team where required

What You'll Need
- Qualified Solicitor with 1-3 years' post-qualification experience
- Strong experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts
- Experience advising on technology-related agreements would be highly beneficial
- In-house legal experience would be advantageous, although not essential
- Strong commercial awareness and a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach
- The ability to balance legal risk with business objectives
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Experience within financial services or a regulated environment would be beneficial, but not essential
Location & Salary
- Location: Hybrid working with 2 days per week in our Bradley Stoke, Bristol office and 3 days working from home
- Salary: Salary aligns with market and experience + annual bonus
