Commercial Solicitor / Legal Director – Birmingham – Up to £95,000 + Benefits

A leading Legal 500 national law firm with a strong UK reputation is looking for a Commercial Solicitor / Legal Director to join its highly regarded Birmingham team. You will work with an exciting client base across media, sport, entertainment, retail and technology sectors, advising on complex commercial, IP and data-related matters within a dynamic and growth-focused practice.

This Commercial Solicitor / Legal Director role in Birmingham offers genuine scope to take on a leadership position, working closely with partners while developing your own client relationships and practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a Commercial Solicitor / Legal Director in Birmingham to progress toward Partnership within a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment.

The Role:

  • Advise on a broad range of commercial contracts across multiple sectors
  • Draft and negotiate IT, software licensing, SaaS and systems integration agreements
  • Provide support on intellectual property matters including licensing and portfolio management
  • Advise on data protection and privacy issues including UK GDPR compliance
  • Support clients on regulatory and compliance matters
  • Manage transactions and client relationships with a high degree of autonomy
  • Mentor and supervise junior lawyers within the team
  • Contribute to business development and growth of the Birmingham practice

The Candidate:

  • Qualified Solicitor with strong experience in commercial law
  • Currently operating at Senior Associate, Legal Director or equivalent level
  • Experience across commercial contracts, IT, IP and data protection matters
  • Confident leading matters and managing client relationships independently
  • Strong business development capability or interest in building a client base
  • Experience supervising or mentoring junior lawyers
  • Commercially minded with a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach
  • Clear ambition to progress to Partnership
