An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Solutions Manager – Drug Delivery Device SME (Subject Matter Expert). This role serves as a technical advisor supporting pre-win commercial strategy for Clinical Supply opportunities, with a primary focus on the assembly, packaging, and labeling of injectable drug delivery devices, including prefilled syringes, needle safety devices, autoinjectors, and pen injectors.
As a member of a global Commercial Solutions team, you will partner closely with Business Development, Operations, Engineering, Quality, Regulatory, and other technical experts to develop competitive client solutions that align Thermo Fisher Scientific's capabilities with customer needs.
You will serve as the injectable drug delivery device SME for clinical opportunities, supporting proposal strategy, customer presentations, bid defenses, and facility tours while helping clients understand how Thermo Fisher can successfully support their clinical supply programs.
Success in this role requires curiosity, technical credibility, commercial awareness, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both internal and external stakeholders. Staying current on emerging injectable drug delivery technologies, market trends, and Thermo Fisher capabilities is essential.

A Day in the Life
- Lead the technical strategy for injectable drug delivery device opportunities by partnering with cross-functional teams to evaluate client Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and develop competitive customer proposals.
- Serve as the technical subject matter expert for injectable drug delivery devices, including prefilled syringes, needle safety devices, autoinjectors, and pen injectors, providing guidance on assembly, packaging, and labeling solutions.
- Represent Thermo Fisher during customer meetings, technical presentations, bid defenses, and facility tours, effectively communicating our capabilities and differentiators.
- Evaluate customer requirements, identify technical risks and opportunities, and recommend practical, executable solutions that align with operational capabilities.
- Partner with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and other technical experts to ensure proposed solutions are technically feasible and commercially competitive.
- Act as the voice of the customer internally, advocating for customer requirements while balancing operational capabilities and business objectives.
- Continuously expand knowledge of injectable drug delivery technologies, market trends, and Thermo Fisher service offerings to strengthen customer solutions.
What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Packaging Engineering, Life Sciences, Operations, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Experience with injectable drug delivery devices, including prefilled syringes, autoinjectors, pen injectors, and needle safety devices.
- Experience supporting assembly, packaging, labeling, or commercialization of injectable drug delivery devices.
- Strong communication, presentation, and customer-facing skills.
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or CDMO environments.
- Knowledge of clinical supply operations and packaging technologies.
- Experience supporting proposal development, commercial strategy, or technical sales.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.

Compensation And Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Pennsylvania is $103,100.00–$154,700.00.
This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
